As many of you know, Oprah has taken over Downtown Chicago for the next couple of days to film her talk show!
That's right...she does what she wants!
She successfully convinced Mayor Richard Daley to shut down Michigan Ave for a few blocks, yesterday through tomorrow. Now, THAT'S power!
Like all big decisions, some people are throwing a fit about it, while others are happy about it.
What's MY opinion?
Honestly, I really don't give a rat's booty either way!
Look...some people just HAVE to complain about something constantly in order to be happy. I don't get it...
They are blowing this WAY out of proportion, in my opinion. You would think that Oprah had asked to shut down the ENTIRE Michigan Ave for a MONTH, the way they are reacting.
GET OVER IT!
I can say this because my bus route is one that was affected by the street closure.
You wanna know what my inconvenience was?
My bus detoured to a street that is 3 blocks west of Michigan Ave. Same route, just a little west...that's all. A total of maybe 3 extra minutes walking...
Big Deal. I can handle that for a couple of days.
I mean...we're talking about Oprah here! She is Chicago's version of GOD!
I have NO desire to actually go to the free Taping, as I don't see the benefit of having to stand back a few blocks in the middle of Oprahpalooza, and watch it from a big screen TV. I can wait until it premieres and watch the edited version at home. I bet CHICAGO will look amazing when the production crew is finished with it!
AND...Chicago's taxpayers aren't being inconvenienced, as Oprah is covering the cost of this event.
So, let her do her thing! I mean, it's Oprah...a national treasure.
Yeah, she has power and influence, but so what!
Look...if you live in a world-class city, like the great CHICAGO is, then you just have to accept the fact that you will have to deal with some minor annoyances.
Work it, Oprah! Do Chicago PROUD!
I have a co-worker who has complained about this all morning. Get this: She lives on the south side, so it doesn't inconvenience her at all. Stupid bitch!
ReplyDeleteOprah is not just Chicago's version of God, she is AMERICA'S version of God! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteI hate Oprah.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Okay, then! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch bitches....you know medication is an option for some of these hedonistic humanoids!!! I mean really folks.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't like it, move to Shaumburg. There's peace and quiet there...
ReplyDeleteWork, Oprah. Work.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see her interview with Whitney! I hope she makes her cry. :)
ReplyDeleteLet's go! If we don't go now, we are going to miss the taping!
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it - some folks aren't happy unless they ar complaining, whether it effects them or not. Mich Ave can use a spike in traffic for a couple of days. Go Oprah!
ReplyDeleteI think people are blowing this way out of proportion too. In Minneapolis, we've had massive road construction on interstates, highways and basic roads. Stuff shut down and re-routed for days. With a couple years to go on some of the interstate projects.
ReplyDeleteDon't cry to me because Oprah is doing something for two days.
so, wheres the link to your facebook page?
