Quote THIS!

Have you ever felt something so strongly, but just could not find the words to express what you feel?

Then...all of a sudden you read a quote that NAILS it!  Perfecto!

That's why I like quotes.  I read, memorize and collect quotes from intellectual, influential people.  A good quote has the ability to make you think, self-reflect and inspire!

It's OK to allow yourself to feel something sometimes, y'all!
Go ahead, try it!

So, let me share with you a few quotes that I have found lately, that really made an impact on lil' ol' me!

Enjoy!

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep, to gain what he cannot lose."  - Jim Elliot

"In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, buy how many moments took your breath away."  - Shing Xiong

"Always put yourself in the other person's shoes.  If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts that person too."  - Unknown

"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes their way."  - Unknown

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will.  You'll have your heart broken, and you'll break others' hearts.  You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by.  So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt.  Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs.  You just have to live life to the fullest.  Tell someone what they mean to you, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts.  Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love, and most of all:  Live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

  4. If you like quotes, check out the bottom of the Menard's circular in the Sunday Trib. I have obtained such gems from there as:

I would rather sit on a pumpkin and have it all to myself than be crowded on a velvet stool.

Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

A child, like your stomach, doesn't need all you can afford to give it.

  5. "Always put yourself in the other person's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts that person too."

Awesome quote! This is something that I needed to hear this morning to remind myself not to be so quick to speak. Being a regular reader of your blog, I can tell that this quote reflects how you live your life, and I admire you for that Paul.

  6. One of my personal favorites:

A ship in harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are built for - William Shedd

  7. If you want to build a ship, don't herd people together to collect wood and on't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the ENDLESS IMMENSITY of the sea.
    -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

  9. Hi Paul! Remember the old Jeanneisms from Jeanne Mayo? Well, one quote in particular has stuck with me to this day.
